The news feature “What makes matter stable” from the Ultracold Fermi Gases team (led by team leader Tarik Yefsah) was selected as one of the CNRS Research and Innovation Highlights of 2025.

The team achieved the first direct observation of the effect of the Pauli exclusion principle. This fundamental feature of quantum mechanics plays a key role in ensuring the stability of ordinary matter and determines how our world is structured.
