Atoms and light in dense or complex media
The experimental and theoretical work in this axis ranges from the study of the gas, liquid, and solid phases of helium using optical techniques or NMR, to the study of coherent effects, and the propagation and control of light in disordered media.
Teams
There are four teams in this division:
Polarised helium, quantum fluids and solids
The investigations of the Polarized Helium, Quantum Fluids and Solids team involve helium in all its phases, as well as the two stable isotopes of this peculiar element.
Complex media optics
The Complex Media Optics team focuses on controlling the wavefront of light in complex media. The propagation of light in such media is challenging to describe but holds significant potential for applications.
