Welcome
I will present and discuss the properties of squeezed multiplet: a set of D orthogonal states formed by superposing D states that are squeezed along D different (equally spaced) directions in quadrature space. I will show they can be used to represent a quDit which is such that the loss of single photons is detectable by a simple parity measurement. For even values of D we can also use them to represent a qubit for which the loss of up to (D-1) photons can be detected by super-parity measurements. I will discuss methods for preparing them using conditional squeezing gates that can be implemented with current technology both in super conducting quantum circuits and in ion traps. I will also discuss the properties of their Wigner function (that can be analytically computed) and displays the high sensitivity of these states to perturbations.
