LKB highlighted in the CNRS Physics 2025 booklet

The CNRS has recently published its booklet “A Year with CNRS Physics 2025” highlighting the year’s major scientific advances. It is available for download at the following link: https://www.inp.cnrs.fr/sites/institut_inp/files/download-file/Une%20ann%C3%A9e%20avec%20CNRS%20Physique_2025.pdf
On this occasion, the scientific leadership of CNRS Physics has selected two contributions from LKB among the highlights of 2025:
- “What Makes Matter Stable” by Tarik Yefsah and his team (Ultracold Fermi gases team) : https://www.inp.cnrs.fr/fr/cnrsinfo/ce-qui-rend-la-matiere-stable
Researchers have, for the first time, visualized the direct effect of the Pauli exclusion principle, a fundamental feature of quantum mechanics that, among other things, ensures the stability of ordinary matter and determines how our world is structured by giving interactions between atoms unique properties.
. - “A Quantum Cryptography Protocol Integrating a Quantum Memory” by Julien Laurat and his team (Quantum Optics – Quantum Networks team) : https://www.inp.cnrs.fr/fr/cnrsinfo/un-protocole-de-cryptographie-quantique-integrant-une-memoire-quantique
Scientists have successfully added a quantum storage layer to a cryptographic protocol, a key step toward the practical use of the secure communication properties enabled by quantum mechanics.
. - “Launch of PHARAO on April 21, 2025 as part of the ACES mission”
