Artist in residence at the LKB

Caroline Delétoille

Birth of a project combining art and science

Within the Kastler Brossel Laboratory (LKB), an initiative that bridges the realms of art and science has emerged: “Quantum Sensation,” an exhibition that will take place at the Maison Poincaré from April 10 to July 26, 2025.

This project is a collaboration between artists and scientists, led by Aurore Young, a doctoral student at LKB, painter Caroline Delétoille, and philosopher Céline Boisserie-Lacroix. Together, they aim to make quantum physics accessible to the general public through an immersive artistic approach that revolves around memories and quantum phenomena.

One of the primary goals of the “Quantum Sensation” project is to make quantum physics research more approachable through art. This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to engage a broad audience and build connections between disciplines, particularly through lectures and science outreach workshops designed for school groups, which will run alongside the main exhibition.

Caroline Delétoille: Artist in residence at the LKB

The artist Caroline Delétoille has just begun her residency at LKB, which will continue until April 4, 2025. During this time, she will work closely with LKB researchers, delving into the mysteries of quantum physics.

She will draw inspiration from the research conducted in the laboratory to translate quantum concepts into the artistic realm through sketches and paintings, which will be an integral part of the exhibition.
