The EQUIP project wins the DIM Quantip mid-scale call for proposals
A consortium composed of teams from LKB, INSP and LPENS, lead by Thibaut Jacqmin, has been selected as a laureate of the DIM Quantip mid-scale call for proposals. The EQUIP project (Etching Platform for Quantum Technologies in Paris) will enable the acquisition of an ICP-type plasma etching system.
This funding will complement the support from the PEPR Électronique program and from the Sorbonne Université platform call for proposals. Among other things, this equipment will be used to fabricate micro- and nano-mechanical resonators for quantum technologies.

Thesis title: “RF Transduction in a DC-Biased Superconducting Electromechanical System”
A superconducting qubit used as an ultra-sensitive sensor in the radio-frequency domain
The Superconducting circuits and mechanical resonators team has demonstrated an unprecedentedly low-frequency superconducting “fluxonium” qubit, which could facilitate experiments that probe macroscopic quantum phenomena.
